The last 12 months were very successful for SK Gaming in the realm of Quake 3. Our players have won trophies and brought a lot of joy and excitement to the fans.

SK had two major players coming back for a season and a brand new star rising to the very top of Quake 3. Karl 'fooKi' Johansson has had another stab at Q3 and represented the team at DreamHack Summer (2nd place) and the ESWC Masters of Paris (5th place).

John 'ZeRo4' Hill, one of the greatest players in the history of the game, had a four year break from esports. He came back with SK Gaming and did very well, getting a fifth place in his debut tournament at the ESWC Masters of Paris, a first and second place at QuakeCon (CTF and duel respectively) and a fifth place at the ESWC Grand Final.



Finally, SK's Shane 'rapha' Hendrixson was the ugly duckling of Quake 3 in 2008. He was brought on as an unknown player but has made unbelievable progress throughout the season. He won a bronze medal at the ESWC Grand Final and then lifted his first international title at the star-studded ESWC Masters of Athens (video above).

ZeRo4 and fooKi have decided to pursue their goals outside of esports. SK Gaming would like to thank them for what they contributed to the team and wish them the best of luck in whatever they choose to do in life.

Shane will be with SK for 2009 and we are looking forward to his participation in the 2009 Electronic Sports World Cup in Paris. He was the first player in the world to qualify for this prestigious event.
