Seong Deok “SoJu” Lee of SK Gaming ended gloomy 2008 with the championship of NiceGameTV League Season2 after narrowly defeated Hyeong Ju “Check” Lee of nGize in the Final in Yongsan, South Korea.SoJu comeback
Though Seong Deok 'SoJu' Lee suffered early setback as Hyeong Ju 'Check' Lee outgunned him with Huntress push on Snow Drop, he fought back to restore 2-1 lead following two straight wins on Melting Valley and Twisted Meadows with some smart moves like invisible Demon Hunter stealing experience and item from Rock Golem.
Centaur Grove thriller
After Check leveling in the fourth game with yet another Huntress push, the Final went into the final set, which happened to be the most stirring one out of the whole series. The game began leaning towards the nGize player when he surprised SoJu by opting Keeper of the Grove as starting hero. He not only killed SoJu’s merchant Centaur Outrunner, which is particularly useful for early harassment in this map due to its swift moving speed, but also added massive pressure in his counterpart’s base with his own Centaur Outrunner.
The turning point took place when Check intended to raid SoJu’s gold mine with the same old Zeppelin trick. Although he eventually got his wish, the price he paid was simply too much. With a much superior army at his disposal, SoJu went for Check’s base straightway in hope of finishing off his opponent once and for all. However Check managed to survive after a couple of intense fights in his base, his army was rapidly diminishing due to SoJu’s stunning Zeppelin micro. He finally called GG after losing his Level 5 Keeper of the Grove to the SK Gaming player and saw him receiving approximately USD 9,233.
Final standing of NiceGameTV League Season2
1. Seong Deok 'SoJu' Lee - Won 12,000,000(approximately USD 9,233)
2. Hyeong Ju 'Check' Lee - Won 6,000,000(approximately USD 4,617)
3. June 'Lyn' Park - Won 2,000,000(approximately USD 1,539)
