NGL: FoV's hattrick has SK against the ropes

ImageDae Hui "FoV" Cho has stunned fans and silenced his critics at the NGL ONE season V finals where he eliminated three SK players, including June "Lyn" Park on Lost Temple, to keep Mortal Team Work in the running.

Of all the undeads at the NGL ONE finals, Dae Hui 'FoV' Cho has undoubtedly had the toughest run of the lot. Rarely do undead players play Lost Temple, however, FoV not only had to play orc maestro's Manuel 'Grubby' Schenkhuizen and June 'Lyn' Park on the map, he had to do it twice.

The fourth time was a charm for the resurgent undead after finally putting down Lyn on Lost Temple and striking a blow for undeads everywhere.

FoV was able to successfully construct an expansion early in the game which Lyn failed to scout for quite a while. Lyn then more or less threw all in during a push, later realising he made a mistake in light of FoV's expansion.

Being that it was Lost Temple and he does play orc, Lyn was able to continue putting pressure on FoV and control the map, but after FoV destroyed Lyn's expansion before he had time to utilize it effectively it was only a matter of dwindling down Lyn's unit numbers through a series of small skirmishes.

FoV later went on to win versus ReMinD on Twisted Meadows with the help of an island expansion and some adept micro. Image

Fortunately for SK, FoV was finally brought to his knees by fellow undead player Seo Woo 'ReiGn' Kang, who selected the orc skewed map Gnoll Wood and chose orc as his race in hopes of benefiting from the advantage. It was a very close game for the most part, but after scouting the expansion of ReiGn, FoV was pressured into making a move while at a disadvantage.

ReiGn then went on to face Du Seop 'WhO' Chang as the last man standing for SK Gaming, losing the game with an all or nothing move to cost SK Gaming the match.

SK versus Mortal Team Work will now move to a second set of matches where mTw will be hoping for a repeat performance to pick up their first NGL title and go out with a bang.

SK Gaming conversely will have to have a rethink of how they're going to play this one as the stakes don't get much higher than this.
