Zhuo "TeD" Zeng has been disqualified from the International E-sports Festival after arriving too late to check-in, tournament administrators claim. After being eliminated from the CEG event a fortnight ago by some arbitrary method in an effort to save time, Zhuo 'TeD' Zeng has once again found himself victim of disorganisation.
As he often does, TeD gave his accounts of the incident in his blog, “I arrived at the venue at 0900. IEF accused me of not showing up at the competition venue at all,” he said.
“Their accusations are a bunch of lies.”
TeD had apparently been told his first match would start at 14:00, giving him what he thought would be enough time to leave for lunch, “I left at around 1030. I phoned Like and asked him to take me out for lunch.”
It's not clear whether the information given to TeD by a tournament administrator was accurate and the schedule was changed after he left, or whether the information was wrong to begin with, “at 1100, IEF called me and asked me to rush back immediately or else I would be disqualified.”
Regardless of his efforts to get back in time to play he was disqualified, “When I was rushing back, there was a huge traffic jam. At 1115, the IEF organizing committee called me to inform me that I no longer had to show up as I had already been disqualified.”
After arriving back at the event, TeD attempted to plead his case to administrators, “After arguing with IEF for 5 min, IEF made a phone call and claimed that Moon was unwilling to play against me. They added that Lyn was not willing to bring forward his match against ToD.”
Despite TeD's best efforts, tournament administrators were apparently uncooperative, perhaps even borderline unprofessional, “After that the IEF marshall told me to call the other players myself to settle the matter. When I informed them that there was a language barrier between us, they only told me one thing ‘You think of the solution yourself.’”
TeD eventually found the administrator “wNv.Cola” and tried speaking with him, but to no avail, “Cola said that the organizing committee would call the players up one hour before their match. But they only called me after the actual reporting time of the match and disqualified me.”
“Cola also said that it wasn't Moon and Lyn who refused to play against me but rather, the Korean team Leader who was unwilling. Up till now I have yet to see any ‘Korean Team Leader’.”
“Cola and the rest insisted that the 'marshall' did not actually exist and that they did not see me at the venue anytime between 0900 and 1100.”
Despite the claims of tournament administrators, there seems to be some consistency in TeD's claims of poor organisation, “As we were talking, Gamebank's afeng walked over to tell me that they only received the broadcast schedule today and they were completely unaware about the competition schedule before that.”
No one could be reached to either confirm nor deny TeD's claims at the time of writing.

this weekend has been full of disqualifications :/
This is also why I lost my 3rd bet in a row on SK' betting system, how lame.
by how they are able to fuck every tournament up for TeD...
yes "they" as in admins of tournaments, think all tournaments need new adult mature admins that can take accurate decisions. for example dreamhack also sucked cause of admins.
shame .. again asia fucks up the orga part
I'm really looking forward the IEF official statement about this... just to see how they can posibly justify this orga issue...
In wich way are u capable of judge my, or my friends actitude as referees? You was there? Playing? I'm pretty sure u wasn't... so... as spectator, far away from our area, and speaking no spanish, are you capable of judging my actitude?
About the warcraft admins... I don't know them... except one, the mexican guy, that have been working as admin in several profesional events all arround EEUU, he's so good as admin... but, just the day that there was troubbles on the wc3 area, he was at the hostel, sick as hell... so, he actually wasn't there to clean the mess, sadly.
Feel free to come to any lan I work in and try to speak with me, friendly, maybe u will discover that you are actually so wrong...
grets =)
