The fnatic organization revealed yesterday their new Starcraft: Brood War team, comprised predominantly of Chinese players.Starcraft is undoubtedly the most polished of the all competitive games, what most would consider the bedrock of esports competition. With a sequel on the horizon that continues garnering increased attention, it's no surprise more Western teams are starting to show interest.
Fnatic has experienced some success with their Warcraft team in recent months, having recently qualified for the WC3L finals, "After our successful WC3 and DOTA teams, we felt it was the right time to add a Starcraft team," said General Manager Elroy Pinto.
"While some may perceive it as a merc move towards SC2's launch. We are very much interested in building up a SC community with fnatic.com and also because the players have known each other for years and that they speak the same language, there's no more an organisation could ask for."
The team is comprised of a few well known talents and one or two promising up-and-comers, Yifeng 'F91' Sun is a well known Starcraft competitor who will be competing in the upcoming IEF tournament, for example.
"The players are top notch and while a few of them are unheard of their talent and skills over the next few months shall define fnatic.SC for years to come."
Fnatic also had some success when scouting talent in years past, Vo0 and Creolophus, two legends of their profession, both caught the attention of their respective community while playing under fnatic.
Time will tell if this roster can produce similar results for fnatic.
The full roster is as follows:
Andrik 'Ash' Tan (Manager)
Yifeng 'F91' Sun
Chia Yang 'SEn' Cheng
Ding "JayStar" Wei
Liu Bo "lbh" Hao
Zhuang Chuan "Phoenix66" Hai
Gordon "JukeBox" Hoi

Just look at the, according to gosugamers, the best no korean team - MYM.bw, they won everything there is to win 3,4 times in a row and what did they win? Nothing but a virtual trophy and the pride...like anyone cares.
If it were an American or European team Fnatic picked up, I would agree with you.
I play mainly Quake and sometimes CS 1.6, but I would like to try out some rts game.
- More units and groups to control.
- Units are buggier and harder to control.
- You have to continuously build workers.
- No automining resources (have to put workers on resources manually after they pop out), no multiple building selection, no smartcasting (can't select multiple units to cast an ability or they'll all cast it at the same target), no autocasting.
should've put together a roster that could compete, and that CANNOT compete in that region + they'll just waste money sending to Europe where the teams are just as good as them
tbh they're fucked, but good luck to em anyways.
Great to see Fnatic expanding the Starcraft!!! best of luck to them!
Ash has always been a pretty nice manager so i bet that all will be good with him ;)
