EMS dream final between PGS and SK Gaming

The third seasons EMS final could hardly be better. Europe's finest teams are going to meet each other in the final. Will the Polish team be able to show once more that Poland is the best FIFA nation for now or will SK save the German FIFA reputation? In a pretty much one-sided meeting of SK Gaming versus the Hungarian team of DiamondZ two weeks ago, SK managed to come out on top with a superior 19-1 final result and took one of the two spots in the final of the third ESL Major Series Season.
Last Tuesday the second semi final match took place and it was to decide who would play against SK Gaming in the final. In this match, the Polish team of PGS Gaming, who successfully won the European Nations Cup this year with exactly the same lineup, had to face SK's greatest opponent in the fight for the German championship, hoorai.
It quickly became clear how the match would go after the first few minutes as the Polish team came better into their game in almost each match and so they could build up quite a good 6-4 leadership until the half time. In the end, hoorai underestimated the Polish ENC champion, losing with 13-7 and thus dropping out in the semi finals of the current ESL Major Series Season. This leaves SK Gaming to be the last German team to stay in the competition.
However, the final could hardly be better. The current and five-times champion SK Gaming will face Poland's creme de la creme. In the final of the European Nations Championship 2008, Germany did not manage to find a way through the strong Polish lineup and so it was the first time in the FIFA history of the ENC that Germany had to leave the trophy for another country.
So the match between SK Gaming and PGS is not just about the win of the ESL Major Series and the prize money, but to save the German FIFA reputation on international ground.
The match is going to be broad casted live on IRC by scorebots on Wednesday at 21 CET. Everyone who wants to follow the matches and support their favorite team should join #SK-PGS on QuakeNet!
