The Koreans appeared in the attendee list earlier this week, despite that their compatriots Jin Sung 'Jini' Lee and Dae Hui 'FoV' Cho had already been ruled out of the tournament due to uncertain circumstances around the Chinese national league. There is some heavy doubt that has been cast upon their ability to pay prize money after losing their head sponsor SK Telecom.

Thanks to the absence of the aforementioned players, Beijing Tour turns out to be a real national tournament with none the others but Chinese players. World Elite pair Xiaofeng 'Sky' Li and TED will have a fight on their hands right from the group stage after seeing Weiliang 'Fly100%' Lu and Nan 'ForDream' Xie going into the same group.

Group D is another competitive group and it is hard to predict where it is heading to as Shenghui 'Future' Li, Kejing 'Like' Li, Yanchao 'Lyc' Lu and Hao 'suhO' Su are all at pretty much the same level while Group B seems to be a three-horse race with Xuwen 'InFi' Wang, Lin 'Wulin' Wu and Xiang 'Panxiang' Pan with two more or less unknown contenders.

Matches in group stage will once again follow best of one format followed by a single elimination playoffs.
