Gravitas Gaming announced today the release of four of their Warcraft players, as well as their intention to acquire two more.
All three Russian players, and original members of Gravitas's Warcraft squad, Mihail 'XyLigan' Ryabkov, Oleg 'TitaN' Kuptsov and Robert 'Rob' Abdrakhmanov have been removed from the team. Finnish Undead player Samuli 'elfittaja' Sihvonen has also parted ways with the team.
Gravitas Gaming only recently missed qualifying for the WC3L finals, it's a safe assumption the removal of the three Russian players was in aid of strengthening the team. Elfittaja was stated to have left the team in order to take a hiatus from professional gaming.
Given the timing on the move by Gravitas, it was thought perhaps yet another team would be bowing out of team based competition, as a result of of the huge costs that come with it, but Gravitas have stated their intention to carry on competing in team based events. The organisation will announce two additions to the roster in the coming weeks.
It's likely this will be one of the first in a string of roster changes that tend to mark the beginning of the new competitive year. December has become synonymous with player transfers, being that it's usually the month most contracts expire.
As to who Gravitas has their eye on to fill the two vacancies is anyone's guess. Pedro 'LucifroN' Moreno Durán has been pegged as a possible candidate and with good reason, but with the loss of their Undead player, can Gravitas afford to continue passing over Dmitriy 'Happy' Kostin?

Gravitas put a lot effort to get elfi so would be pretty stupid to kick him after some months already.
