mTw beat CBTEAM after three close maps

mTw have finally beaten CBTEAM, losing the first map, winning the second and struggling to win on the third. They will go up against SK Gaming in the Grand final tomorrow at 14.30 CET while CBTEAM will face eSTRO for the 3rd place decider.

This match wasn't as easy as everyone expected and even though it looked like this after the first half, elemeNt and his team played fantastic, showing that they're still able to compete with the world's best. Starting out on de_train mTw played their known-to-be-great Counter-Terrorist side, leading with 13-2, but CBTEAM made the impossible and took down mTw with 14-1 winning de_train with 16-14.

With the maps being in random order, de_tuscan was the second map - a map which CBTEAM had struggled on during the ESL Pro Series qualifiers. However, the Danish team didn't really have any problems winning de_tuscan, which they did with 16-6 going to the final map de_inferno.

Both de_inferno and de_train have been great maps for mTw in the past weeks, with them also just beating MYM shortly before on both maps. Again mTw had a great start, winning the first half with 12-3, but CBTEAM showed once again what they're capable of in the second half. They gave mTw a hard time but were not able to pull off the big surprise and lost with 13-16.

Tomorrow the grand final awaits mTw and SK Gaming at 14.30 CET, while CBTEAM will meet eSTRO after to decide the 3rd place. Check out our event page for more information about the World Cyber Games 2008 in Cologne, Germany.
