XlorD falters in group stage versus FoCuS

ImageDaniel “Xlord” Spenst has lost his initial group stage match against Hyo Sub "FoCuS" Eom, after a botched tower push.

The two met on Gnoll Wood where Daniel 'ixi' Spenst opted to use human, as he often does when pitted against orc. The human scouted the close spawn between himself and the orc quite early in the match.

XlorD decided to train an Archmage and continued to do so even after scouting the close spawn situation.

The two scuffled by the North goblin merchant for a moment, where Hyo Sub 'FoCuS' Eom picked up the gloves of haste and backed off. XlorD eventually healed up and called his peasant to arms, pushing towards FoCuS’ base.

XlorD brought with him a hefty amount of peasants, but they were essentially free experience for Korean’s Blademaster. FoCuS was intent on killing every peasant, if XlorD focused the Blademaster the grunts went to work, if the grunts were being attacked the Blademaster sliced peasants in half, there wasn’t much he could do.

Eventually FoCuS’ Tauren Chieftain popped out and it was over, one by one footmen and peasants hit the deck, forcing the German youngster to concede defeat.

XlorD really wasn’t in a position to tower push, he was still tier one so it was basically an all or nothing move and FoCuS hadn’t been weakened or given any sign he would be susceptible to such a maneuver, making his choice rather questionable.

XlorD still has three orc’s to face, one of whom is the fan favourite Pedro 'LucifroN' Moreno Durán. Placing second in a group with five orcs was always going to be difficult, doing it one match down makes it even more so.
