Xuwen “infi” Wang went against all odds with a 2-0 defeat of the Player of the Year Jae Ho “Moon” Jang in another semi-finals of World E-sports Master today and joined June “Lyn” Park in the final. Both stats and odds were stacked against the young Human player before he went into the semi-finals match against Moon today. Not only the terrific “Fifth race” cruised to the knock-out stage with a stunning performance in the “group of death”, beating all of Manuel “Grubby” Schenkhuizen, Xiaofeng “Sky” Li and Du Seop “WhO” Chang, but he also won most of the clashes with infi. However, his awesome run came to a halt when the two met again.
The first game on Secret Valley did not go in Moon’s way as he failed to pull infi’s early expansion with Huntress push while his own expansion turned into ashes before it generated advantage for him later on. Though both of his DH and Panda levelled up to 6, infi avoided opening a fight with these two deadly heroes and destroyed almost all of Moon’s buildings before the Meet Your Makers typed gg.
The second game on Echo Isles was not as intensive as the first game. After having respective expansion up and running, both sides opted to creep as much as they could and went for massive fight with huge army. Despite of levelling up his DR to 6 through a series of fights with infi, Moon lost his level 4 Panda twice which led to his defeat to the Chinese player in the end.
Infi will hence vie for USD 15,000 with Lyn of SK Gaming in the overall final tomorrow, who dismissed Grubby's title quest with a clean sheet yesterday, while Moon and his team-mate will provide another classic clash in the bronze medal match.
