The first day saw some major upsets in group stage like the knockout of last year’s finalists, June “Lyn” Park and Jae Ho “Moon” Jang, let alone Ace of Colorful topping his group while Meet Your Makers players Lucifer and SocceR staying at the bottom.

The Undead phenomenon TED lives up to all the hype around him in these days, winning all his matches in the first day, including a 2-0 defeat of the NWL double champion Fly100%. It has been a while since a Undead player is considered a serious title contender, and a Undead champion is in the making.

Whereas TED is expected to seize the most attention, it is kinda surprising see suhO performing so well in such a competitive tournament. He not only advanced from his group with clean sheets against Korean Orc brothers FoCuS, Lyn and WhO, but also steamrolled to winner bracket final with defeats of WhO and SaSe. However, the toughest obstacle that separates him from his first title in years is lying ahead as he will have to deal with his worst match-up against TED tomorrow.

After losing to Fly100% in the upper bracket final, FoV kept his hope alive with two 2-0 wins over TH000 and SaSe, but it is debatable whether he will be able to continue his winning streak when he meets the Chinese Orc player again in the lower bracket final.

MGC will continue rather early tomorrow, kicking off at 3:00 CET in China, but you can always count on them delaying an hour or two.
