New CS 1.6 update to render old demos obselete

By Lawrence 'Malystryx' Phillips

ImageValve is already running a beta for an update version of CS 1.6 and although the specific details of the changes to be made remain unsure, one change will have a huge impact, the protocol of CS will go from 47 to 48, making old demos unplayable.

According to HLTV the protocol change will mean that ALL old demos will be rendered useless, so your Heaton collection could be yesterdays news. The update is apparently set to be released sometime this week which will undoubtably cause a heated reaction from the CS fanbase.

"We have been working closely with Valve to make sure HLTV smoothly made the transition to the new version"
The boys at HLTV however do bring good news saying that they have been "working closely with Valve to make sure HLTV smoothly made the transition to the new version". The countdown to the new update begins, but is it the update the community has been waiting for?
