Zdravko "Insomnia" Georgiev and his fellow Bulgarian gamers have decided to stand up to the WCG organizer for Bulgaria by putting together a petition which they hope will sway ICM, the company behind the WCG, to stop BFES from causing any more damage. The petition has been floating around for a while but has not yet triggered a response from the organisers of the WCG. According to the petition "ever since 2004 the Bulgarian gamer has been arrogantly ignored and tormented by Bulgarian Federation of Electronic Sports (BFES), the WCG organizer for Bulgaria."
"One could say that BFES is working hard to devastate the young eSports culture and de motivates the gaming community". The drama surrounding WCG Bulgaria has even drawn the attention of Bulgarian eSports legend Zdravko 'Insomnia' Georgiev who helped to put together the petition.
"I hope we can bring forward this issue to the attention of ICM," explains Insomnia, "our ultimate goal is that WCG reconsiders their relations with the BFES and try to find another organizers for the local preliminaries in Bulgaria."
Now in 2008 it seems the Bulgarian community has had enough as despite boasting a strong Bulgarian CS team in iNNERFiRE who qualified for the main round of ESL's Extreme Masters, the BFES closed the door on the Bulgarian hopefuls.
The BFES statement read: "BFES believe currently there is no worthy Counter-strike team in Bulgaria. No team has the required good management, team spirit, discipline and skills, therefore no team will be sent to the WCG finals this year."
Then BFES then chose to cancel the national WCG finals this year which was scheduled for the 20th, on the 15th September. Their reasoning was that the "WCG finals committee required from all countries to finish their national qualifiers as early as possible".
The Bulgarian eSports men and women have spoken but whether ICM will hear their cries is another matter. The WCG 2008 begins on November 5th so perhaps WCG Bulgaria will have to wait until next year to see the fruits of their labour if they do indeed manage to rally enough support to dethrone what they believe to be a BFES tyranny.

The petition outlines the blunders of the BFES such as the lack of qualifiers for SEC in 2007 and 2008, BFES according to the petition decided to send their own employees instead. "For me and the vast majority of the Bulgarian gamers BFES’s actions are insulting and unprofessional."

BFES and its chairman Mr. Nikolay Slavchev are actively ruining WCG image in Bulgaria and progressively destroying the gamers’ enthusiasm."Then BFES then chose to cancel the national WCG finals this year which was scheduled for the 20th, on the 15th September. This saddens me to see such a bad organizer for the most prestigious event we have every year. I signed the petition, I believe as #870 or so.
