Groupstage Finished, Playoffs in Montreal coming up

ImageThe groupstage at the ESL Global Challenge in Montreal has been finished and the playoffs were drawn. Two matches will be played at 21.30 with the American top match between Gravitas Gaming and Team EG while SK will take on Team EG.Canada in the other match. Continuing at 22.30 with the next two matches of MiBr and fnatic.

No surprises yet during the groupstage as all favorites advanced without any problems. The only thing to criticize so far is the drop out of Check-Six and team-j1n which led to very few matches during the first and second day.

Now the playoffs are coming up featuring all the top teams of the event. The first matches are scheduled for 21.30 with the two remaining American teams facing each other, Gravitas Gaming vs Team EG.US. Both played a good tournament so far and the only match being played in Group D was Gravitas vs fnatic which Gravitas lost.

The other match at 21.30 is SK Gaming vs Team EG.Canada with EG being the underdog. Team EG won their groupstage match against Dynamo but got a total of 2 rounds against MiBr but nonetheless the team has some great and experienced players so they are not to underestimate.

The next two matches will be played at 22.30 with Made in Brazil vs North Star Gaming and fnatic vs Sway Gaming. Again the Canadian teams are the underdogs against a strong MiBr but it is not sure if fnatic have recovered from their recent performance. They won their groupstage match and will most likely meet Made in Brazil at 01:30 CET being the big test for them.
