Nihilum forfeited out of ESL Montreal

ImageAfter a difficult start on the first day of the ESL Extreme Masters Montreal event, Nihilum will reportedly have their remaining matches forfeited.

According to ESL World of WarCraft Head Admin David "Shawn" Kugelmann, Nihilum will have their remaining matches forfeited and will not continue any of their group play games, SK-Gaming.com has been told.

Kugelmann states that Nihilum's Luis "Paperkat" DiCenta informed the ESL staff that they no longer want to continue playing the remainder of the event. Apparently Nihilum is displeased with the fact that the event is running the new 3.0 patch, and does not feel that it is worth it to continue playing. They are currently the only team to decline to play their remaining matches.

The team's main comp, and overwhelmingly the strongest of any pre-3.0 comp of Warrior, Warlock, Druid has been drastically changed with the new update. Several other teams such as fnatic, also use W/L/D as their main comp.

Nihilum currently sits with a 1-2 record in the group stage with losses to SK-Gaming and Pandemic, and a win barely over GotGame East 3-2. With Nihilum removed from the tournament, all their matches have been erased verse the three aforementioned opponents. With this, Pandemic, SK-Gaming and GotGame East all sit with a 1-1 record heading into tomorrow's games, as they will all square off against Team EG who arrived late today.

Nihilum was not available for comment at the time of print. A comment regarding the matter will be released later today.
