After a difficult start on the first day of the ESL Extreme Masters Montreal event, Nihilum will reportedly have their remaining matches forfeited.According to ESL World of WarCraft Head Admin David "Shawn" Kugelmann, Nihilum will have their remaining matches forfeited and will not continue any of their group play games, SK-Gaming.com has been told.
Kugelmann states that Nihilum's Luis "Paperkat" DiCenta informed the ESL staff that they no longer want to continue playing the remainder of the event. Apparently Nihilum is displeased with the fact that the event is running the new 3.0 patch, and does not feel that it is worth it to continue playing. They are currently the only team to decline to play their remaining matches.
The team's main comp, and overwhelmingly the strongest of any pre-3.0 comp of Warrior, Warlock, Druid has been drastically changed with the new update. Several other teams such as fnatic, also use W/L/D as their main comp.
Nihilum currently sits with a 1-2 record in the group stage with losses to SK-Gaming and Pandemic, and a win barely over GotGame East 3-2. With Nihilum removed from the tournament, all their matches have been erased verse the three aforementioned opponents. With this, Pandemic, SK-Gaming and GotGame East all sit with a 1-1 record heading into tomorrow's games, as they will all square off against Team EG who arrived late today.
Nihilum was not available for comment at the time of print. A comment regarding the matter will be released later today.

But really I get them from new patch, right now its really stupid and pointless
Now they just come across as spoiled kids who gives up when it doesn't go their way. Oh and, they just screw Pandemic and SK over, as they were 1-0 against them. Not very professional and I think it should have a consequence for Nihilum.
It must suck no longer playing the best comp in the game.
didnt they knew this already a month ago or what? so they play the super ultra "old" comp of WLD, isnt Op enymore, they loose and they go away of the tourney?
And also groups W/L are being fixed? omg bad omg
Only reason not to play is cause they are being emo kids that cant handle some losses. Cause seriously, once they went all the way to Canada, how much effort can it be to play a few games to be commercial for their sponsors.
Dont get me wrong, the patch IS imbalanced. But there are loads of other teams there, and it isnt less imbalanced for them. And as you could see, some teams have got pretty damn ownd today due to imbalance. Should they also forfeit?!
Just my 2 cent.
Really like how clueless some of you people are on this site, use your brains.
