The two Omega Sektor PC and Console Gaming Centres in Birmingham and Harrow in the UK have been forced to go into administration after collecting hefty debts. The company behind the two LAN centres according to Corin "Corin" Cole of Cadred.org have accumulated outstanding debts of close to £250,000 ($500,000) as well as £80,000 ($160,000) in administrative debts.
All staff were informed yesterday that they were to be made redundant and "and as the company has been running less than two years, there will be no redundancy payments".
The LAN centre has been host to KODE5 UK, ESWC UK and the Championship Gaming Series and its closure sees the UK eSports scene suffer a huge blow. You can check the SK galleries of the CGS event held in Omega Sektor Birmingham here and here.
It will however perhaps see more spotlight turned to Stoneleigh Park where the latest installment of the I-Series was held.
