Keepers of Destruction merge with H2O

Despite earlier reports detailing a merger between the American based Keepers of Destruction and European based myRevenge, Keepers of Destruction and H2O have announced their intentions to merge with one another and compete under H2O.

One of the more significant reasons for the teams to partner was that both were struggling to field fully active rosters, "Neither team had enough members to make a full roster," as player Nick "Axslav" Ranish explains.

"We wanted to make a powerful American based team."

The hope is that by combining their active players the two will stand a stronger chance to qualify for the WC3L next season, though a key component of their team has yet to agree, "Without YanE I think we stand a 50/50 chance of qualifying," Ranish said.

"I hope that YanE will join, then I think our chances look very good."

Oscar "TechnoBoy" Rivera, one of H2O's players, currently resides in South Korea, were he relocated for stronger practice opponents. On the subject of sending more of H2O's roster to Korea, Ranish said, "Preferably we wouldn't do that unless we get a bigger budget."

He felt their budget could be put to better use, "I would rather use the limited budget we do have to compensate players for their time."

Adequate compensation is vital to a teams ability to focus on their practice regiments, something the previous team lacked, "The biggest difference between the two organisations is that in KoD, we only really played Warcraft III when we showed up for league matches," Axslav explains.

"H2O has allocated our team a budget, so we'll be able to compensate players for the time they spend training and hopefully become a more competitive team."

The American scene has lost significant steam over the past few years, something Axslav attributes to a lack of resources in the community, "Most American players would need more money than teams like MYM or SK could pay in order to convince them to drop school or work to take up the game full-time."

At the moment the team will be focused on qualifying for the next season of the WC3L and securing a reasonable budget for their squad.

The H2O roster is now as follows:

Carlos 'Boo' Armendariz
Alexander 'GLaiVe' Angleby
Dennis 'Shortround' Chan
Alex 'PLaZMaTiC' Cosovic
Ryan 'Kaos' Gosling
Nick 'HolyHuman' Pesu
Nick 'Axslav' Ranish
Oscar 'Technoboy' Rivera
Cong 'StrifeCro' Shu
