After facing some temporary problems, our newly acquired League of Legends team has quickly bounced back, seems to be in a groove right now and sits on top of the ESL Meisterschaft scoreboard at the moment.
We officially return to the Rift as we announce our German-based League of Legends team alongside with our new telecommunications and technology partner: @deutschetelekom! @LeagueOfLegends @LoLGermany https://t.co/HFv9B3dAl5 pic.twitter.com/hfGJXYkA7e— SK Gaming (@SKGaming) 15. Juni 2018
Finishing in the favorable top seat would mean the direct promotion to the first division in the next season. Only the champion gets that right while his pursuers of the second, third and fourth spot have to battle against the seventh, eighth and ninth placed squads of the first division to have the chance of getting promoted. That is the reason why the first spot is so prestigious and our team will do everything in its power to defend the lead.
In order to do so, our men have to keep their competition at bay over the course of the last eight remaining games. Because of the round robin format which grants three points for a victory anything can happen at all times which countless placement changes during the first half of the competition have already proven. On matchdays, two competitors face each other in two best of ones which can cause upsets and shifts within the structure of the scoreboard in a hurry.
Right now the participants are pretty close to one another. Despite holding the lead, four opponents are in the distance of just six points to us. Our players stayed undefeated during the first four matches but lost the following two clashes against D-City Gaming Stars after our big announcement about our comeback to the Rift. However, they bounced back with two consecutive sweeps the following two match days and hold 24 points thanks to eight out of ten possible wins. On the final four dates, we will compete against the competitors who are currently sitting between the fourth and seventh seat. They are still within reach of our boys so these direct matchups are going to be of great importance. You can find the complete current scoreboard down below:
1st: SK Gaming (8:2) - 24 points
2nd: D-City Gaming Stars (7:3) - 21 points
3rd: DIVIZON (7:3) - 21 points
4th: eversity (7:3) - 21 points
5th: mYinsanity (6:4) - 18 points
6th: Austrian Force eSports (5:5) - 15 points
7th: la cité (5:5) - 15 points
8th: PENTA Sports (2:8) - 6 points
9th: Team Riverside (2:8) - 6 points
10th: Entropy Gaming (1:9) - 3 points
The newest large patch has changed the meta quite a bit but on the national stage our squad has proven that they can adapt and use the changes to their benefit. They will have to prove that they can stay at the top of the ESL Meisterschaft and show that they are able to reproduce the same results on LAN over the course of the next few weeks. The first chance to confirm their current form at an offline event could come via the qualifier for the next Premier Tour stop in Berlin in which they will compete in on 14th July.
