According to the developer, League of Legends will combine elements of role-playing and strategy and has been created partly by the modding team behind DotA-Allstars for WarCraft 3.
Will the game have the capability to replace DotA and become it's new future? Or grow even bigger and attract a lot of people from different e-sports due to the fact it combines many positive aspects from DotA, WarCraft 3 and WoW?
The online multiplayer session-based game will feature rival teams competing against one another on stylised battlefields and landscapes, with players invited into the League of Legends beta in 2009. With Guinsoo as a developer (former DotA map editor) the game is redolent of DotA especially in the way the terrain is made, some of the creep camps and several of the clutch areas are kept in the same way. But there are also diffrences, some of the features in the game are that you grow in power and skills for each game you play. Furthermore the players will be classified on their experience and capability to keep the fights balanced, it's like a ranking system comparable with Warcraft 3.

It looks cool even though I, at this point of time, prefer the "classic design" over "MMO-style". Anyway, I'm sure it will be entertaining. :>
On the screenshots you can often see the Aztecian Calendar on the floor, looks nice^^
