EM playoffs shock Fnatic, x3o out as well
Fnatic join mTw on the list of favourites who failed in Los Angeles after they were knocked out of the Extreme Masters tournament today. The Swedes and x3o were the first teams to leave the competition at the playoffs stage.

Fnatic join mTw on the list of favourites who failed in Los Angeles after they were knocked out of the Extreme Masters tournament today. The Swedes and x3o were the first teams to leave the competition at the playoffs stage.Winning the group did not give Fnatic a good playoffs bracket in Los Angeles. Team EG, Meet Your Makers and GamePlay (former Roccat) were in their half, unarguably stronger than the bottom half of the bracket.
Still, a 16-1 defeat to the American team right in the quarterfinal was definitely a result no one expected. The result on de_train must have been a shock to everyone.
Meanwhile, Meet Your Makers convincingly got past GamePlay and are in the upper bracket semi final against the upbeat Team EG.
The Swedes from Fnatic got a total of six rounds in the playoffs and were sent packing. Granted, they played better against GamePlay in the lower bracket, but 16-5 on de_nuke is a score much below Fnatic's normal level.
The team to leave the competition with Fnatic are US team x3o who lost to SK Gaming in the first round and to fellow Americans Paragon of Virtue (they lose to Made in Brazil) in the lower bracket.
Made in Brazil proved to be the strongest team in the lower half of the bracket as they beat 16-6 SK Gaming for a spot in the semi final. They had a very strong CT-side on de_dust 2 (4-11) and carried the victory home in the second half.
SK Gaming will be playing GamePlay for life in the lower bracket.
