The organizer of NiceGameTV WC3 League have updated groups the second stage of the second season in spite of releasing a pre-drew groups earlier.Previous group draw led to two highly competitive groups with Sung Sik 'ReMinD' Kim, Hyo Sub 'FoCuS' Eom, Zhuo 'TeD' Zeng and Seo Woo 'ReiGn' Kang tied together in Group 4, and Yoan 'ToD' Merlo, Xiaofeng 'Sky' Li, Kejing 'Like' Li and Deok Man 'SocceR' Youn in Group 5.
Life became easier for Sky and ReiGn with the help of the new draw as they were tied together with amateur players Si Won 'ShaKiEL' Bak and Yong-Gyun 'Gyunah' Kim, but tough goes tougher for the others respectively.
The first ones are Like and SocceR who have their destiny tied again. Instead of the Human duo Sky and ToD, they will be now competing with ESWC2008 champion Du Seop 'WhO' Chang and ESWC2007 champion Seong Deok 'SoJu' Lee.
Following Group A is another tough group, Group B. It not only links SK Gaming’s latest signing, Dong Hwan 'viOlet' Kim with ALTERNATE player Kim 'SaSe' Hammar, whom in the first stage knocked out Dae Hui 'FoV' Cho, but also two Korean veterans Hyeong Ju 'Check' Lee and Jung Ki 'Susiria' Oh.
Last but not least is Group E with ToD, infi, FoCuS and suhO. The Frenchman qualified for WCG Grand finals in Cologne last weekend and is currently on a 3-game winning streak in the running season of WC3L. His Human alliance Xuwen 'infi' Wang is also in a terrific shape with 5 straight wins in WC3L, including the match winner for WE against SK yesterday.
The player who I can hardly pass over is infi’s team-mate Hao 'suhO' Su. His recent run is quite impressive as if he is slowly recovering his touch back in 2004. Apart from scoring a couple of points for WE in WC3L, which he failed to achieve last season, he also produced one of the shockers in the first stage of the qualifier as he repeated his victory over Jae Wook 'Lucifer' Noh this season with a 2-1 win and eliminated his Korean counterpart from the competition.
The following is the new group draw. Who says a qualifier is any easier than a regular season?
