The WCG 2007 champions emuLate have faltered in the French qualifier and will not be defending their title in Cologne. Esport EU will be representing France instead.Esport EU beat Millenium 2-1 in the WCG France final after taking only one round in the opening map on de_nuke. It was 16-1 to Millenium and it did not look like the internationally unknown team would be going to the WCG Grand Final. Esport EU won the next two maps 18:16 (de_train) and 16-10 (de_tuscan).
The biggest surprise of the qualifier was that the WCG champions emuLate were knocked out in the group stage. The best French team only managed to beat one opponent in group play (eXtreme Gaming 16-9) and lost to aAa and Ubiteam 12-6.
With the Extreme Masters III season around the corner (tournaments in Los Angeles, Montreal and Dubai), it looks like emuLate have a lot of work ahead of them.

Ps : eSport-eu will do the SEC 2009 no ?
(sry for my english)
seen as challengers, as Millenium is. emL stands to the top, Mille & us are following closely (each of us have already beat eml once on lan).
Anyway, no offence, just some precisions.
you see, every one can have the same argumentation !
I feel sorry for people who need to show how retarded they are by thumbing down every french guy :)
The french scene isn't that bad, the matter is that the teams can't manage to attend some great tourneys due to a lack of good sponsors, and also the scene is really unstable... emL! got the same line up for two years, and they succeed in an international scale!
And my little finger told me that many of the players have not slep the night before ....
I'm not trying to say its not their fault but it can help ppl tu understand ^^
That my friend is impressive..
I wish my finger told me stuff, and why are they called fingers anyway..i've never once seen them fing.
Sry if it does not worth it in english :x
Odd that they didn't at least make it out of group play though.
Good luck to Esport EU at WCG.
It's a fact, they didn't manage to qualify, so did fnatic, AG, and some more, there will be other tourneys...
Good luck guys !
