In an intense match over three maps and another six overtimes, SK Sweden finally qualified for this years World Cyber Games 2008 in Cologne, Germany. Blank put up a great fight dominating the second map.The match was scheduled for 14:00 CET today and lasted until a few minutes ago. After three maps and six overtimes on the last map, it is decided that SK will represent Sweden at the WCG in November.
The first map was de_dust2 which was won by SK Sweden with 16-9 and it looked good for them. Blank choose de_nuke as second map and even started on the terrorist side but got a total of 11 rounds in the first half. SK were not able to recover from this and didn't win a single round in the second half, making it 16-4 in favor of Blank.
But the third and most exciting map was still to come with de_train. Again Blank had to start on the terrorist side on this mostly CT dominated map but were able to get seven rounds. SK started out good on the second half and got up until 15-11 but Blank made another comeback getting their needed rounds for the overtime.
The overtimes were pretty even going on for quite some time until the sixth overtime was being played. This time SK switched positions of Marcus 'zet' Sundström and Dennis 'walle' Wallenberg which eventually led them to the win.
SK Sweden is therefor qualified for the World Cyber Games in Cologne from November 5th to 9th.
