Two weeks ago MYM.DotA won against Delirium Gaming and was crowned as the first King of the Hill. But who will be the first challenger of the current King?Today the sign up closed with the enormous number of 151 signed up teams. Actually only a few of them receive the chance to participate at the voting of the community. The Dota-League crew developed a tool which randomly draws 30 teams out of those who signed up which will be added to the public voting pool.
Interview with Moritz 'DL|Moose' Zimmermann from the Dota-League Management:
Unfortunately, this time SK.DotA is (again) not among the 30 randomed teams but therefore teams like mouz.DotA and H2O DotA (former Shakens) can be voted. If you wanna cast your vote follow the link to the voting pool.
DotA-League KotH vote
Interview with Moritz 'DL|Moose' Zimmermann from the Dota-League Management:
"SK-Gaming: Hello DL|Moose, can you explain to us why you decided to pick out randomly only 30 teams even though there seems to be a major interest from many teams to participate in KotH?
Moose: We expected a larger number of teams to participate in SteelSeries KotH from the beginning and gave a lot of thought on how to deal with a larger number of sign ups. In order to handle it properly and let the community have an easier overview of the teams, we decided to have 30 teams randomized from the sign up every KotH. Having a vote run on over 200 teams
would just pull the numbers apart. With just 30 teams, the concentration of votes on the individual teams is much higher this way.
SK-Gaming: Aren't you scared that if everything depends upon luck that the result isn't satisfying for most people? I mean we already saw a good example in the first KotH. There was only one top team in the pool which was of course nominated by the users, yet an equal opponent was missing. As a result we saw a more or less exciting game with an obvious outcome.
Moose: I am not scared at all about this. In the end, the community votes whom they want to see. Of course, there were some who think it is unfair to have a top team be nominated, but then again, everyone voted for them. As long as the majority gets what they want, we are happy about it. Satisfying every ones wishes at once is always quite difficult.
SK-Gaming: However the upcoming matches about the crown of the Dota-League Hill may look like, it's a nice idea to implement such a format we already know from several other e-sports. It can only be a step further for the Dota-Community. Thank you for your time.
Moose: Thanks for the interview as well. We do our best to push DotA scene and make it more professional. We hope that with our input DotA is one step closer to becoming THE competitive game worldwide that everyone wants to see and play. Regarding KotH: I am excited who the community is going to vote for this weekend!"

what a pity sk cant be the koth!!...
The lack of logic made in that argument is astounding. Just because the teams selected to play in the KOTH match are done so through popular vote, the fact that the pool of teams for which people can vote is randomized is not changed. It'd be like randomly selecting the candidates for the US Presidential Elections, ending up with Hick #1, Hick #2, and Saddam Hussein's ghost as the candidates, and claiming that since one of them will win the election, the majority of the population will happy.
At least this time H2O and Mouz are in it, should be an interesting match :)
