Not only does PvE get a soft reset with making the old raiding gear obsolete upon reaching level 80, PvP will get a soft reset as well, forcing everyone to start over from scratch with zero arena and honor points. All battleground tokens will also be wiped out prior to the release of Wrath of the Lich King. Patch 3.0 will offer a few upgrades and special rewards so people can spend their accumulated honor points before the reset.

Arena in Wrath of the Lich King will still be available at level 70 as well as level 80 simultaneously, but level 71-79 will not be rated and you may only participate in skirmish battles. Players competing in the level 70 bracket in Wrath of the Lich King will still be able to attain items using arena points and rankings; however, Blizzard does not plan to offer any new titles or items for this bracket.

Players who reach level 71 will have all their arena points reset to zero and will automatically be removed from all arena teams, so spend your points before you level up.
