It is with great pleasure that we announce the addition of Dong Hwan "ViOlet" Kim to our Warcraft3 squad, winner of the Korean Amateur Challenge and up and coming star. The delay was caused by viOlet's former team eXpertise claiming he was under contract and an official protest was submitted to the G7, the matter was then brought infront of the G7 who passed judgement on the issue.
"The G7 Teams, excluding ourselves in this matter, gathered all information on the case and were also asked by both NGL and WC3L to solve the matter," stated Alexander "TheSlash" Muller Managing Director of SK Gaming, "and the group unanimously voted in favour of viOlet being a free agent and not bound to any contract".
viOlet is one of the new players to rise from the Korean ranks winning the Korean Amateur Challenge sponsored by SteelSeries and Coolermaster as well as defeating the likes of Xiaofeng "Sky" Li, Sung Hyun 'Space' Park and Hyo Sub 'FoCuS' Eom in the War3League.
"ViOlet is talented has a lot of potential and is growing day by day" said Sung Sik 'ReMinD' Kim agreeing with his team-mate Lyn that "ViOlet is really good at harassment with the BM and creep jacking. His micro is also very good. I think he will do well for us, I have played some games against him, I won more but all were close games".
SK Gaming welcome their newest recruit and you should see him in action very soon.

"As part of the G7 Teams we respect this process as we fall under the same law as any other team out there and therefore waited until today to make the transfer of viOlet official," explained TheSlash.viOlet is one of the new players to rise from the Korean ranks winning the Korean Amateur Challenge sponsored by SteelSeries and Coolermaster as well as defeating the likes of Xiaofeng "Sky" Li, Sung Hyun 'Space' Park and Hyo Sub 'FoCuS' Eom in the War3League.
"Lyn: He is now very proud because he joined our team, lately his skill is very improved."

Btw why should a clan like eXpertise listen to a vote from the G7?
It was his former team that filed the protest at both, NGL and G7, therefore this was a very good opportunity to see how objective the G7 can actually work if one of their teams is part of the matter. It happened before in other situations as well, but we kept that behind the curtain. This time we have it more or less open.
You have not been involved in this process at no stage, so I'd rather think about a comment like that even for 5 seconds. Though working within this group, the teams that discuss those matters are competitors!
I'm wondering how he will do in European clanwars
Not to accuse anyone but G7 is more likely to protect one of its own teams than some non-G7 team, so it can hardly be called "neutral".
Anyway, it's a nice addition but a bit more transparency would be nice. Otherwise it defeats the purpose of contracts in pro-gaming if a player can for example deny the signature is authentic [source: MYM] and immediately make the contract void.
You simply have to understand that SK was one of the parties in this matter. ex filed their case with their evidence, so did SK. In the vote and discussion around it, SK did not participate, as this would indeed be biased.
Don't forget, within the G7 we are still competitors.
Gl in SK : )
Epic win. GL Dong!
Anyway, good addition for SK. Non the less.
They can just play for team A after they left team B for some offline tournament. Who cares, doesn't matter at all. They won't be refused by that tournament anyway. So in my humble opinion, you guys should actually talk with big boys like ESL / ESWC / GGL / WCG etc etc. And get some formal agreement up that is fair for both sides, so you get recognized and gain more respect to each other. Instead of playing the victim all the time. A fair example would be;" The tournament orga must give out what they have promised from the day they signed this contract, how ever we are obligated then to finish their tournament at all costs. Otherwise you will have a legal issue. (or something with loads of formality in it)" This should work a lot better then all the boycot announcements, because that just doesn't help much for esports in general really.
Once an agreement has been made, then you can start doing votes about players such as these. Especially if some team goes rogue against you. Also it could help gain populairity for your idea because then smaller/minor teams can benefit with such an agreement aswell. Because now why would you even bother? You have abslutely no power and it feels utterly pointless from the outside view.
Now it feels like just a few happy hill billies trying to reach a bit more media attention with a dead bird.
If all written is true then SK did not participate in this verdict, which is good and fair. If true.
However, I have some questions, why was this kept in the dark? Why is there no arguments to why and who voted in which direction regarding ViOlet and eXpertise?
This is something that G7 should have published on their site and give all the information to the public, right now it just looks like all the big boys ganged up on a small team and stole their candy.
Do you really doubt the people involved in this matter that much?
Why keep it in the dark? So G7 can look at the arguments and evidence from all sides rather than being influenced by a flamewar :)
I think it is the best possible way of solving a matter like that.
I'm not saying that G7 made the wrong decision, but if they want to have an appearance of being fair and good for the community they need to publish the reasons for their decision.
Especially since it involves a very active G7 team, SK.
If they want the public to see them as an objective judge of disputes instead of an organisation of bullys that only tends to their own success and welfare, they should publish this.
What I'm trying to point out is that G7 should give the public a reason to why they voted as they did and not keep it in the dark. Especially since SK is such a prominent member of the G7, they need to show the community that this decision was fair and just to all.
If the G7 won't do that, it will not take long for the community to start distrusting the organisation as they seem to only tend to their own benefit.
Again. I am not saying that the G7 is corrupt, nor that there was anything wrong in the verdict. I am just saying that it should be open to the public to gain trust as an objective judge in these matters.
It's very tacky to draw parallell's with other sports or formats but in my eye's G7 is to esports, what FIFA / UEFA is to football.
Anyway, great step for violet. Always good to see young talents getting a chance.
He has shone in this NGTV tournament as well as Myth who has still none team atm : (
However he did really good by beating Moon and Soccer in the first group stage and he qualified to the quarter finals =/ Hope he will find a home : )
