ESNation and ESFI, two companies in the competitive gaming landscape, have each made changes in the upper echelon of management.
ESNation A/S, one of Europe's largest gaming portals and owners of brands such as MYM, myMYM, DotaPortal, and the XboxUsersGroup has parted ways with it's CEO Arican Wegter. Mr. Wegter has been CEO of the company since August 1st of last year when founder and then current CEO Mark Peter Fries took the position of COO. The company was then called Regroup Esports A/S.
"With immediate effect and unanimously the board of directors and the shareholders of ESNation A/S have decided to part ways with CEO, Arican Wegter", ESNation A/S chairman Ronny Saul said in a statement on myMYM. "This action is taken due to mutual disagreements on [a] strategic level. We want to use the occasion to thank Mr. Wegter for his contributions to the development of ESNation. The parties have decided not to comment further on the issue. The recruitment proces (sic) leading to engage a new CEO has been initialized."
Mr. Wegter was Managing Director of Lovefilm Germany and a member of the company`s senior leadership team in London. He co-founded Denmark’s leading online DVD Rental Company, Digitarian, and grew the business until its acquisition in 2005 by LOVEFiLM.com.
ESNation.com has been in development for some time now and was scheduled to open up for public use several months ago with the full launch in August. ESNation TV launched last weekend in a new studio in Copenhagen, Denmark as the company's live and VOD service It is intended to will broadcast eSports shows, news, series and game shoutcasts.
E-Sport Fans International (ESFI), a new competitive gaming media site unveiled several weeks ago, has announced that effective immediately, Jason Bass will be the new President of the company. Jason Bass has been involved in e-sports for over a decade as both a player and executive.
"I am extremely pleased and excited about bringing Jason on board," said Brent Ruiz, ESFI founder and VP of Operations. "The vast amount of experience that he brings with him will be integral to the development of ESFI. I cannot wait to see what we can do together. If there was one missing piece that could make ESFI any more exciting than it already is, that piece is Jason Bass."
His professional experience in competitive gaming started with GotFrag in early 2003. He helped make GotFrag a thriving business and much of what is today, staying as the VP of Operations until early 2007. After leaving GotFrag, he took a position with the Championship Gaming Series as the Director of Online where he was responsible for all of The CGS' online activities including the CGS website and all of the team websites.
"The competitive gaming community is in need of an independent news outlet and I am looking forward to leading the organization that will do just that," said Bass. "After leaving the CGS, I was thinking of different ways to get back involved in competitive gaming and after seeing what Brent and his team had built, there was no doubt that this was the right place for me to be. I am very pleased to have been offered this position by the founders of the company and look forward to an exciting future with ESFI."
ESFI plans to be "dedicated to help develop the booming international e-sport industry, while offering fans, players and teams an e-sport platform of unprecedented scope." Features include circuit and ranking systems, pro player and team profiles, quality event coverage and original video programming. A virtual tour of the site can be found at this location. Sound bites are available for each portion of the site. The official launch is scheduled for October 8th.

Hire me to redesign that shit :D
I mean the general view of the site is just total crap. That logo looks like their designer they hired has found a nice little font from dafont.com and just started to learn how to use Photoshop.. (OH HAI I just found Gradient overlay and Stroke, oh there's Drop and Inner shadows too!!!, let's test these layout styles for the brand new logo and the ESFI site). To be honest, there are some nice parts I like, but its all that. The combination of UGAME, SK-Gaming, GotFrag, Cadred, but with a bad design. I don't want to use that site if the design will stay like that.

"This time we’re looking for a Graphical art designer with excellent graphic design skills and a solid understanding of usability. So if you are a Photoshop guru or a very skilled wannabe.."
So, what Regroup or ESNation recruited instead was just a starter, not a "very skilled wannabe", "photoshop guru" or a guy with "excellent graphic design skills". What I don't understand is that why don't people in high positions, like the owners of ESFI, recruit a professional webdesigner or a known design agency to create a nice site. It won't cost that much, actually you will get much more benefits with a nice site. Now that will only make a disappointment.
The larger the site, the more skills you will need, especially if you want to get into dynamic CSS or the use of CSS constants, the developer will probably need to know a little bit about some sort of script language (not as much as a developer, but some at least).
i hope they believe it LOlzzzzz
I wonder when we get this:
hey lads hows the regroup a/s stocks going?
