The Russian team diamondZ Gaming became the fourth qualifier for the fifth season of NGL Two with an unexpected 4-3 win over fnatic.
After losing to the Danish team Copenhagen ProGamer, or rather to René 'Ciara' Krag who scored three points out of four, diamondZ Gaming have defeated the North American team H2O and the German team KomaCrew before going into the lower bracket semi-finals tie with fnatic.
Fnatic were considered as the favorite in this competition with their all Korean roster, and they managed to climb to the upper bracket semi-finals without featuring all of their star players. But being only one step away from NGL Two twice, they saw their opponents surpass them to clinch a berth in both occasions.
The Russian Night Elf player Eugene 'FrizzeR' Verestnikov single-handedly defeated the Korean team and sent them to the lower bracket half a month ago, and then, it was another Russian team who turned down a NGL return for fnatic.
Team captain Chul Woo 'Shy' Park gave fnatic a 2-1 after being revived and replaced Sung Hyun 'Space' Park with the help of joker, and later on FoCuS equalized the scoreboard at 3-3 after seeing both of his team-mates losing to the impressive Igor 'Multick' Larionov. But a win over FoCuS for the Russian Human veteran Ilya 'KemPeR' Babushkin proved enough to send his team through the qualifier.
