World of Warcraft but no StarCraft 2 in ESWC 2009?

ImageGames Services has announced the games that will be used in the ESWC in 2009. All titles that were used in 2008 will stay, with the exception of DotA. The game list will most likely be expanded.

The 2009 season of the Electronic Sports World Cup will have tournaments for Counter-Strike 1.6 (both male and female), Warcraft 3, Trackmania Nations Forever and Quake 3. The latter could still be dropped, but only in favour of QuakeLive, more a new game version than a different game.

The interesting part of the news is that the announcement of Warcraft 3 could mean that StarCraft 2 will not be included. Most likely this is because the game will not be ready by the time the new ESWC season starts in October. According to recent reports, the game will not be out this year.

The list of ESWC games will probably be expanded with more games. The press release hinted at adding "most probably a football game and a RPG-like title." This could either mean that Games Services will go with FIFA 09 or go back to Pro Evolution Soccer, a game they have used for years.

Could the RPG-like game be World of Warcraft? In an interview from November 2007, the Games Services CEO Matthieu Dallon said: "It seems to be a great game for million of people. I doubt they need e-sport to increase their pleasure of playing."

Much has changed around WoW as an esport since then. Is there another "RPG-like" option they might be considering?
