watch the replay ... it was like 40 minutes ricing without much action, but when they started action it became entertaining to watch

That BO3 _IS_ Better for such a prestigeous competition like ESWC, not only for the players but also for the spectators that gets to see more matches.

Yeah, lets add double elimination to the list, as well, so we make sure that every team gets enough chances to prove what they're capable of! And while we're at it, why not throw a wild card in the mix? To the team which has the most unlucky situations (i.e. a bad start due to being out picked).

Dude, just let BO5 go it wont ever happen, However BO3 is a suitable BO, most of the "bad" teams would get 2-0:ed by the top teams, and MYM vs SK-matches would you not want to see BO3 of such top games? Or KS/Zenith or any of the other TOP teams? Atleast go BO3 from Quaterfinals/semifinals to the Grand final if BO3 groupstage really would take to long which i dont think it would but ofcourse some matches gets incredible long. And Im not talking about fuckin' league matches, Im talking about the BIGGEST tournament of DotA, ESWC.

Defeating your opponent twice instead of 1, which could been luck, bad picks or bad play that match. I love watchin DotA so when for example one of the best teams SK, doesnt even go through from the groups vs teams they on a regular base beat without too much sweat, how are you gonna say BO1 is superior to BO3? It's ALOT more random and the best team does not always win. It's like playing Tennis 1 set. I have nothing against any of the teams, i simply dont feel BO1 justifies the game.

yeah but in that case sk should ask themself why they got beaten by an unknown team wich they normally pwn like hell that has nothin to do with BO even in 3 matches u can choose from the same heros and the map dosnt change at all. but that might be the price for not taking their opponents seriously or whatever.. even if they havent been training a week or so do u think they should get the chance to train in groupstage against newcommers ?

and remember: its an offline event - and so its limited to two days. with people needing some hours to sleep or maybe even some real life (*surprise*) it would be pure horror to play all matches bo3. even if it would be better.

I maybe understand why you prefer Bo1, but what I do understand too is that you took my thoughts and arranged them so you could write something nice. Otherwise you would have written that long before.

Anyway, ofc it's nice and good of ppl to do their homework. It means they have put lots of time and hard work into the game they have chosen to compete in. Personally I like that very much; hard work over skill (I don't say that Zenith or KS don't have any special skill though, ofc they are great players who knows what they're doing).

But, still, it's more fair with Bo3 since you can show of your homework and show the hard time training ingame in the 2nd (/3rd) match. To be able to adapt quickly during ingame and analyzing (and come up with a new strategy) between the games, is also a sign of someone who have played over and over again and put his soul into it.
