SoJu experienced a huge disappointment in the past three days as the ESWC defending champion lost grip on the glorious trophy after falling in the “Group of death” with June 'Lyn' Park of SK Gaming, Mykhaylo 'HoT' Novopashyn of Gravitas Gaming and Zhuo 'TeD' Zeng of World Elite. But the SK Gaming player vowed to move on.

In spite of losing to group winner Manuel 'Grubby' Schenkhuizen of Meet Your Makers, the 23-year-old made it through to next phase with defeats of Andrew 'mOOn-GLaDe1' Pender of Australia United and Dae Duck 'Kei' Yoon of fnatic.

As SoJu joined the rank of Group A, the group turned out to be the battle of SK Gaming and mTw. Hyeong Ju 'Check' Lee, Sung Sik 'ReMinD' Kim, WhO and SoJu will compete for two places in the quarter-finals.
