Meanwhile most of the world is focused to the ESWC finals, the Russian scene celebrated another edition of the ASUS series, trying to find new idols after the break up of Virtus.Pro's DotA division. The pool of highly talented players is still huge, but as the Russian teams missed every single top tier event, the comparison to teams like the ESWC grand final attendees SK-Gaming, MeetYourMakers and others became harder each week.
Drama, player changes and other misfortunes shook the Russian scene, and a lot of people who are close to the competitive scene started to rumour that the days of the glorious Russian teams will never come back.
Russian players were still strong through this time as individuals, but their biggest advantage - the team spirit of former days - has gone.
With the stars leaving Virtus.Pro to both Rush3D and Kingsurf international the title of the best Russian team had to be found again.
After this weekend with a lot of impressive DotA action made in Moscow the new spearhead of Russian DotA gaming is found again - it's Rush3D.
The team around the stars NS and LightOfHeaven managed to win every single game, beating Amazing Gaming (former Wolk3R-Gaming) 1:0 in the semi final and even Kingsurf international in the final of the tourney with a 2:0.
So now that its clear who is the local champion, it's only sad that the community will have to wait some more until the Russian elite will fight the established teams of the world again.
