Daniel “XlorD” Spenst of ALTERNATE, Heinrich “S.o.K.o.L” Rennert of n!faculty and Tim “HLA” Gebel of Raptor Gaming will defend honour of Germany at home in WCG008 Grand final. After sloting the hosts their first ENC trophy yesterday, XlorD went on to secure himself a place in WCG2008 Grand final to be held on November 5 to 8 in Cologne, Germany. The young EPS champion was unstoppable in the WCG2008 Germany qualifier and lost only 1 set to the runner-up S.o.K.o.L in the whole competition.
S.o.K.o.L was the biggest dark horse in the qualifier. Knocked down to the lower bracket by Leon 'TastyLeon' Hoge of Raptor Gaming in the first round, the n!faculty player swept his way to the lower bracket final and became a Germany representative in the Grand final with 2-1 defeat of Marc 'yAwS' Förster of ALTERNATE.
Dennis 'HasuObs' Schneider of Mousesports and Daniel 'miou' Holthuis of SK Gaming will participate in ESWC Grand final in San Jose next Monday and thus had to sit out the qualifier.

the wcg qualifier had a big stage for specators and a video stream etc.
without the games conventin they wouldnt have had as many.
btw. in CS1.6 was the same problem, but the team that goes to eswc made a deal with the wcg qualifier and takes part in both events...
anyway xlord performed very well (everyone should watch his game vs HLA on echo-isle, nice comeback)
