Jin Woo “WinNers” Kim of mTw has been granted a berth for the Asian qualifier of Blizzard 2008 tournament after the player was drawn into a row over berth for regional finals with his team-mate Du Seop “WhO” Chang.WinNers was 10 points trailing behind SocceR at the seventh place when the invitational ladder was said to be closed and hence had to sit out the regional finals, albeit Blizzard had not unveiled the participants by then.
However, a recent investigation conducted by Cassandra “Cassandra” Ng has put a question mark on WhO’s legitimacy in the regional finals. The 20-year-old finished third place in the final standing provided by various sites, but the myMYM editor uncovered the Korea Orc player was ranked the seventh place by the deadline and only a 3-min game afterwards boosted him to the third place.
The Warcraft III maker is well awared of the issue. In the press release, WinNers is among the 8-man participant list alongside Jae Ho 'Moon' Jang, Sung Sik 'ReminD' Kim, Hyeong Ju 'Check' Lee, June 'Lyn' Park, Hyo Sub 'FoCuS' Eom, Jung Ki 'Susiria' Oh, and Deok Man 'SocceR' Youn. These eight players will take part in the Asian qualifier from August 30 to 31 in Seoul, Korea and vie for three berths for the Global finals run from October 10 to 11 in Anaheim, California.
