It was just a marketing-announcement causing a big "w00000t!?"
througout the whole LFS scene on Friday afternoon. Turtle Entertainment
announced that you can win a new VW Scirocco in Live For Speed at Games Convention. Two racing events will be held at this year's Games Convention. From an earlier news we already know there will be the Speedlink-Cup final. It was also already known that there was again a car to win in German e-Sport events. The game to play was unknown until Friday.
The news just spread like a virus to all people in the whole scene. Attempts to keep it quiet in order to be the only one taking part: failed. It's just gonna be like the Intel Racing Tour one and a half year ago already, where our driver Danny 'Husky' Engels won a BMW M6. Except for the fact that there will not be a final event, no race, it's just about burning a fast time into the tarmac. This is up to Nils 'n1lyn' Naujoks this year, as Danny is not able to come around.
The car to win is:
Volkswagen Scirocco
- The slowest version does not run below 200 km/h (120 mp/h).
- It also goes from 0-100 km/h (0-60 mp/h) in no more than 9,7 seconds.
- It has a minimum of 122 horsepowers and 200 Nm turbocharged out of a 1.4
litre 4 cylinder.
- It looks pretty cool if you ask me.
- It is worth more than 20.000 €.
Apart from that I want to remind you, that in October the V-WTCC offers another car to the racing-scene: A Chevrolet HHR. Husky is back there.

still very nice, tho if i were to buy a new sirocco, i wouldnt go for the 1.4i at all. Its like buying a bmw 316i or a c180... yeah you have a benz or a merc but you'r getting passed by fiats.

worst thing is: FWD
c'mon nils 2nd place is still the first looser. =)
go and get this damn thing, it was my turn last year, now it's yours :>
I think the quite interesting thing is that "pro gamers" are racing in a public event there.
Normally, if you can win such a fucking nice prize, it's a closed final (offline), where the best players are qualified. You can also compare it to CS Tournaments. I never saw a "final" where SK played against some random ppl for more than 20.000$.
In my opinion it's very nice that you have the chance to face the best drivers in the world and maybe more than this ;) good luck (:
I'm not comparing anything, i'm trying to say sometimes you must be happy for what you get instead of always complaining that it could be better. As since they could have givin much worse.. much worse.
As I quote: "god get some knowledge before posting shit."
go guys
still the scirocco is a goodlooking price, and more than there is to win in any racing event around. except for v-wtcc
However my pref remains to BMW ;p German uber enginering.
