This is the first time that the ESL gives out an eSports Award for photographers. Six photos were nominated and pigvomit's photo from the Extreme Masters II finals was voted the best by the eSports Academy.

The photo shows Manuel 'GrubbY' Schenkhuizen watching the replay of the match that put him out of the EM II with his girlfriend Cassandra "PpG" Ng is giving him support. Grubby's arch rival Yoan 'ToD' Merlo who won the match gives an interview in the background enjoying his moment of glory.



Rafal's hobby is photography but he also does most of the camerawork in the 1on1 video interviews you watch every Wednesday. Expect to see more of his photos at future esports events.

The eSports Photo of the Year award was one of the new online awards. The main ceremony of the 2008 eSports Award will take place on August 23 at Games Convention.
