They aren't different from any other team that hasn't been able to qualify. Bad move by the organisation to start inviting random teams (I do consider this to be random as they did not in any way qualify or made a tremendous performance granting them some sort of wildcard)

world final in usa meant a big increase in costs, less national qualifiers as nsp's just don't have the money needed to send a team to the other side of the ocean and less teams in the grand final. they are now inviting the well known ones that didn't had the chance to qualify or failed to do so. what by saying teams i also mean players from 1vs1 games.

Unbelievable... What about 4Kings or another European team clearly better than EG.usa? This invitation is just unfair (imho).

If EG had proven themselves just once after the famous KODE5 performance I would be happy about it, but now it just doesn't sound nice..

i too want an undeserved invite. how does one apply? who must i kiss up to at ESWC and for how long?

I hate american cs but if you guys read anything you would see that it says they were in kode5 where they flopped terribly... and couldnt attend the US qualifier with they probably would of won but they still don't deserve the invite

EG being an American team has something to do with there invite but it's actually a very small part. Any team, to my knowledge at least, can submit a grievance(such as a country not having an auto birth) to the Head ESWC Admin for there region or the ESWC Organizing Committee, to have an auto birth given to them. EGs grievance ended up being that they would have, without a doubt, qualified for the Grand Final if they hadn't attended the Kode5 Finals in Russia. Granted it was there decision to attend kode5 and they also had a chance to qualify at ESWC masters but it's not like EG is getting special treatment because any team can submit a request for an auto birth.

LINKAGE-_- is right though. The cost to send a team of 5 players, + a manager in some cases, is really expensive and not being able to make the trip which ends up leaving open spots that ESWC need to fill. Proof of this would be ESWC inviting pure gaming to the grand final. Pure finished third in the US online qualifier and they were given a spot when the US qualifier was originally only supposed to have two. Basically ESWC is doing what they have to to fill all the slots in the tournament on short notice, even if there are better teams out there. and Remember n!faculty was also given an auto birth after finishing 3rd in the German qualifier so it's not only American teams getting the auto births.

Maybe start inviting teams without qualification, it would be a "nice" idea, dumb ESWC organisators.!
Team EG in US is like Chinese Athletes in Olympic Games in Beijing. They get higher points etc. in their home Country.

I hope they will show their strenght playing at home:)
