You see, being a ranged DPS class in a raid isn't all it's cracked up to be. So we start doing our 5th attempt on Lady Vashj for the night and i go to my usual spot on the west side of her platform and start killing the elementals. Things are going smooth, all the casters are in the middle nuking the naga, the east side got the core for the 10th time that night and then, over ventrilo I hear my healer say "Strider West!" look down at my next elemental spawn, see my rogue friend dead, the strider running straight for my healer and start to panic. I strafe left hoping to avoid the fear, and sure enough, i get feared. By the time I get out of the godforsaken fear, I notice my healer has combat rezzed my rogue friend (hes a druid BTW), the strider is being kited by our elemental shaman and we have 2 elementals up on our side, one near the top, one just starting to come up the stairs. I nuke the top one hoping to kill it with fast crits, and tell my rogue friend in vent to get to the bottom one. As we finally get our side under control, i look on my Player Target frame that our kiter is dead, and the strider is now fearing and killing our casters in the middle. Our MT and raid leader's familiar voice comes over the server with the words we've heard 4 times already that night "Wipe It." We decided to call the raid at that point. In previous days we've gotten her to 27% and we could never reach that high again. We decided to take a break for a week and we will be starting up again Tuesday hopefully.
