In the "match of the century" Jaedong defeated Flash 3-0 in GOMtv's Averatec Classic's final. When the number 1 and 2 players in the KeSPA ranking meet, one could expect a great match. What no one expected this time around is the kind of domination Jae Dong 'Jaedong' Lee delivered to Young Ho 'Flash' Lee.
The Zerg player was unstoppable on all three maps of the final on Blue Storm, Othello and Katrina. The sixteen year old Flash was left absolutely helpless and did not manage to survive very long on the first two maps.
Flash got 15,000,000 won ($14,500) for second place. Jaedong picked up a cheque for 40,000,000 ($39,000) for first place, which is apparently the highest prize purse in professional competitions in Korea.

btw i recommend everyone to uninstall your world of warcraft, counter-strike and other crap games you have installed and start playing THE ULTIMATE esports title where SKILL is required to win, Starcraft
-.-"
for me: Counter-Strike > Starcraft
Starcraft is an amazing game to follow though.
Disappointing final, GomTV should keep the money and use it to make a better final next season.
"
What a disappointing final after all the hype. All the finals this season have been 3-0s except the PL final which was 4-1.
JulyZerg - BeSt 3-0 (Ever OSL)
ForGG - JaeDong 3-0 (Arena MSL)
Samsung KHAN - OGN Sparkyz 4-1 (Shinhanbank Proleague)
JaeDong - FlaSh 3-0 (GomTV Averatec Intel Classic Season 1)
All the other finals I enjoyed very much but this GomTV final not so much because of:
a) Stream problems
b) GomTV fails to put a good show on, probably because of lack of funds.
In all the other leagues they took time before putting the players against each other and there were HUGE stadiums full of people and you'd hear the cheers very well, in GomTV I think they drowned the outside sounds so you'd hear Tastless better and I'm sorry to say Korean commentators > Plott.
It's nice to hear someone speak a language that you actually understand but they need to get at least one more commentator with Tastless there, preferably someone Korean who has a deeper understanding of the game and speaks English(if such a thing exists..).
This played out more like watching laggy VODs than a true final, I hope next season GomTV will fix their problems with KeSPA and get a real stadium and give us a more refined show.
Though admittedly they'll probably need a lot more funds, recognition and support for that.
One can only hope.

And I don't know how you can say the Korean commentators are better than Tasteless when you can't understand them. You could always watch the Korean stream if you wanted to.
congrats jaedong, well played :)
By the way Bacchus OSL 2008 finals were won 3:0 by Flash against Stork :p
Lee 'Jaedong' Jae Dong replied: "I will win the GOMTV finals against Flash, who is one of best, to overcome my latest failures to win in the Proleague, and to maintain Kespa's #1 rank as the player with the most-wins." "
He said it , he done it!
Congratulations Jaedong. Crazy prize still :)
would still be enough for me..
about gomtv problems, no idea. i could watch but only on the site.
