Blizzard recently announced that an achievement system is in the works for the upcoming WoW: Wrath of the Lich King, but Jeff Kaplan revealed it is a part of a bigger plan.Originally drafted to be for the new WoW expansion Blizzard have revealed they plan to expand the achievements to include other upcoming games such as Starcraft II and Diablo III.
"Eventually, our plans are for the Achievement system to become an account-based system,” explained lead World of Warcraft designer Jeff Kaplan.
When the new BLizzard Accounts go active, a player's "WoW" points will be added to their overall score called their "Blizzard Level".
"You’ll have this Blizzard identity, and you’ll be able to see things like 'Oh, this guy was great at Diablo III, but he never played Starcraft and he was mediocre in WoW.' That sort of thing."

The concept is very similar to the Achievement system on XBOXLive, "Your "WoW" score would be just one factor that will go into your Blizzard Level. And rather than call it a "score," we just wanted it to be like you’re leveling up on Blizzard games," explained Kaplan. If all battlenet games are linked in things like whispering to players and so on - that would be great. Or if you can enter your keys on a single acc and download those games if you need them like in Steam. So all in all, Bnet needs what Steam has :P
But it would be nice if there was no extra client needed.
Achievement stuff is always so useless. It has always been abused. (As I remember: BF2 - Abuse only; DoD:S: Abuse only)
they really need to make the game less random
any1 can beat any1 if u just randomly crit some1 at the right time
But about achievements, I find them really cool though people really obsess over them.
:P
'oh this guy sucked anus at d3, but he never bought sc2 since he spent so much money on WoW-stuff, and he's one of the best wow players?' Will it work like this? = )
i mean i still play those games for fun and not to work on some odd achievement thingi...
at first it was original and an interesting idea but now it's just getting stupid imo :\
go mouz!
