ESL has officially stepped onto American soil with competitions for Counter-Strike 1.6, World of Warcraft and... Bomberman Online.ESL has been planning to enter the North American market for years. The opportune moment has come with the start of the Extreme Masters III season. The qualifiers for the North American EM Continental Final for World of Warcraft and Counter-Strike will take place online and the ESL platform will be used for that.
The choice to take the very first step with CS and WoW is a natural but Bomberman Online, of all games, is surprising to say the least. Most likely it is due to the casual appeal of the game and the fact that it may get a great number casual gamers to start using the ESL system.
ESL's first tournament on American soil was at last year's E4All with the Extreme Masters Los Angeles event. On top of the online activity, two Extreme Masters Global Challenges and a Continental Final will take place on North American soil by March 2009.

Who knows maybe we will see some Nintendo World Championship type of competition again.
Reminds me of this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jwC544Z37qo
Worth watching until the end... I'm still like wtf even after watching it 10 times ;)
It's very popular at ESL Europe and Germany. Also other fun games have a big following in the ESL ladders like ICQ Games or KartRider (until the european beta was closed).
