The hottest player this summer, Alexei "Cypher" Yanushevsky has joined Serious Gaming from Fnatic after his victory at the ESWC Masters of Paris.“It was a really hard decision for me to leave Fnatic because this team give me chance to prove myself in international scene and I’m really happy that I was in Fnatic,” said Alexei 'Cypher' Yanushevsky.
In srs the Belarussian will meet up with his good friend Maciek 'av3k' Krzykowski, which was a major reason for him to join the Dutch organisation. Cypher was the only FPS dueler left in the team and felt alone, partially due to the language barrier between him and the rest of the people in Fnatic.
The Polish player is very glad to be joining forces with Cypher: "We have known each other for a long time and got on very well, I think because of the small age difference," he says. "I am very glad that he chose to play in the same team as me."
Cypher joined Fnatic two years ago after he finished second at the ESWC 2006 Grand Final in Quake 4. He was the hottest property on the market at the time, but has not managed to win a major international tournament until the ESWC Masters of Paris.
Cypher is the most interesting player of the summer once again after his victory in France and Serious Gaming are turning into a dueling powerhouse. Cypher and av3k are 18 and 17, respectively, and can be expected to deliver trophies for several years to come.
In the nearest future, the players are going to GameGune 2008, QuakeCon and the ESWC 2008 Grand Final in San Jose.
