Two video game giants, Vivendi Games and Activision have confirmed the merger. Both parties agreed the voting, which approved the final merger between Blizzard and Activision.

The "major strategic step", in other words merger plan was already revealed for the public in the beginning of December 2007. This deal is supposed to make Activision Blizzard the world's biggest game publisher. Game industry analyst Michael Pachter says that it is good to have "a duopoly" instead of a monopoly, and notes, "this just makes the industry that much more interesting."

Activison Blizzard company will most likely have some announcements to come regarding the merger and future at the E3 trade show, taking place next week in Los Angeles, California.
