The match was the first of the whole tournament that I watched and my voice pains from screaming, my hands hurt from clapping, SK.Ladies may be out but it was an emotional final.
It was not however without its problems, the biggest one being with Les Seules up 5-2 as Terrorist on de_inferno, one of their players had a problem with her keyboard, thus delaying the match 5-10 minutes. It was in the end decided that the match should be resumed keeping the score as it was but that each team re-start with $800.
SK.Ladies got back into the game a few rounds after with an impressive triple kill for Jane 'janeosaur' Wie followed by a quadruple kill for team captain Alice 'ali' Lew. However Les Seules climbed up to fourteen points and only needed two points to win, meanwhile SK.Ladies were sitting at six points.
It was then that the girls got into form, Lidia 'lolol' Poulin seemingly overcame her nerves and began to gain momentum, really demonstrating why SK have so much faith in her. Christine 'potter' Chi was instrumental for the SK.Ladies and was seemingly the most consistent, meanwhile Jennifer 'jso' So had moments of brilliance, also justifying her recruitment into the team.
She also had an unlucky round, killing two players and carried the AK ready to deal the coup de grace to the last when she alt-tabbed out, a piece of bad luck she shook her head at following the end of the match.
Their opponents were exceptional at times, particularly in the early rounds, SK.Ladies will now have time to collect their thoughts and prepare for San Jose, and make sure this was nothing but a momentary blip.
SK.Ladies fought in style and gave to me at least, an emotional rollercoaster, I may not have been playing but it bloody well felt like it.
