ESWC sticks with the old 1.21 patch

ImageShortly after the new Warcraft III patch, The Electronic Sports World Cup organisers have decided that they will stay with the old 1.21 version of the game.

Just several hours after Blizzard released the new 1.22 Warcraft III patch, the Warcraft and DotA communities weren't really sure whether the ESWC Masters, which will take place this weekend, should use the new and possibly bugged version or the old a tested.

For the Warcraft players it would only change the factor that the players wouldn't have had enough time to acclimatise with the new balance issues and changes. Whereas the DotA scene went into panic as it turns out the patch created loads of bugs within the game and the developers weren't sure that they could fix everything in time.

But to settle things down and to make sure things go as planned without any unnecessarily errors the ESWC organisers have announced that they will stick with the old patch.

Also the group stage matches will be played in BO3 format and not BO2.
