ImageThe Blizzard World Wide Invitational 2008 tournament is well underway and Warcraft 3 is about to see its winner bracket final between Grubby and Moon.

One of the first tournaments match was between Daniel 'ixi' Spenst and Yoan 'ToD' Merlo.

Despite a lot of people telling that it should be an easy victory for the human player and that he got pretty lucky with this seed, the young German proved wrong by actually winning their first map, Secret valley.

Although it didn't help the Undead player and Tod regained his confidence and finished the match with a 2:1 victory.

From there on Xlord was forced to move on to lower bracket where he was put up against Xiaofeng 'Sky' Li who lost his first match to Manuel 'GrubbY' Schenkhuizen. And once again Xlord did manage to win one map against possibly the best human player in the world, but it wasn’t enough as he lost 1:2.

One of the tournaments most interested matches was between SK Gamings June 'Lyn' Park and Jae Ho 'Moon' Jang. Unfortunately for the Orc player, this clash wasn't going to end in his favour as the "fifth race" pulled of a 2:0 victory.

From there on the Night Elf player went to advance to the WB final by winning FoV, who not only took a step to knock SaSe down to the loser bracket but also has just signed a contract with mTw.

Despite losing to Moon, June 'Lyn' Park took things back into his hands and is slowly moving towards the consolation final. In his first LB match he eliminated a great Swedish Warcraft 3 player, Kim 'SaSe' Hammar with a score of 2:1 and after he eliminated another great player in the form of Yoan 'ToD' Merlo.

His next match is going to be against Xiaofeng 'Sky' Li. And now the question arises whether the last games vs. Tod will have been a good enough warm up for this Human match up.
