This event has already lost a number of players across multiple tournaments, like "Strelok" for SC and "Fly100%" for the WarCraft 3 tournament. "Strelok" had his visa rejected as stated in a previous news item and was unable to attend the event.
According to netwars.pl, "Dreiven" was invited to take part in the tournament as "Strelok's" replacement, a rumour which "Dreiven" himself confirmed. "Dreiven" is known for his macro-based protoss playing style and has the alias "The Barbecue Toss". He's currently ranked 25th in the official GosuGamers SC rankings.
"Dreiven" is also part of the same Meet Your Makers (MYM) SC team as "Strelok" and beat his Polish rival Krzystof "Draco" Nalepka in the World Cyber Games (WCG) Seattle 2007 finals, at the playoff stages.
Speaking exclusively to SK-Gaming, "Dreiven" shared his feelings about the tournament:
"I'm very happy that I can take part in such a great tournament. My opponents are very tough so it will be a very hard tournament but I'm looking forward to visit Paris because I've never been there.Plus there will be a possibility to play Starcraft 2. Wish me luck!"
"Draco", another protoss currently without a team, was also considered as a replacement for "Strelok", but Blizzard opted for "Dreiven".
