The Mayor of London, Boris Johnson has linked violent video games with knife crime. The London Mayor Boris Johnson has spoken out (via Next-Gen) for the rising rally of knife epidemic that is wandering around the Big Ben city. According to him, violent video games are the link, the cause of this epidemic.
Johnson wrote a piece against "London's knife crisis" for thelondonpaper. "We must show young people that knives are not cool, and for that we need positive role models," the mayor points out.
"I want to counteract the damaging influences drug-addled celebrities and violent video games and the lure of the life in the gang by providing opportunities," he blasts.
This is not the first time Johnson acts critically against the video games as in 2007 he took a note that "computer games rot the brains". Johnson termed video games on this article as "narcotics for children."

I was at uni when voting happened so didn't, but god damn would rather have voted for my penis than him.
Many video games are actually based on real life happenings. And playing a violent game will cool me down and will not let me use violent in real life, not that I ever do that.
And what's wrong with carrying a knife? If you want, you can kill/hurt people in many other ways. I can slam my school bag in someone face, that's gotta hurt ;). So know they should also link a school bag with crime?
It obvious that Johnson is or too old or he just doens't know a thing about (violent) games.
I mean, is there any game in the world that doesn't have violence. In the Sims I can put people in a room and remove the door, in RCT I can put people in an unfinished rollercoaster or drown them. It up to you if you want to make video games violent.
I can learn more about violence/knives/fights from watching youtube then playing video games.
But I think he is the problem, looking at his face just make me want to kill people ;).
