Grubby: "I apologised to Fly personally"

ImageManuel "Grubby" Schenkhuizen responds to supposedly viscious slander against his name in a post-WC3L playoff interview, as well as speaking his views on the event in general.

Much has been said about the conduct of Manuel 'Grubby' Schenkhuizen during the WC3L Season XIII Finals in Changsa, China. However Grubby has now had an opportunity to lay his side of the story out on the table.

The major incident which provoked a heated response from the Chinese community happened during the first map of 2 versus 2 match between MYM and Mouz on Avalanche.

Due to some connection issues Weiliang 'Fly100%' Lu lagged out but fortunately the game was saved before he did so, however before the saved game was loaded, Grubby was seen to be watching the replay of the beginning of the match.

There is no rule saying a player is not allowed to watch a replay after a saved game however there are people who believe the act was unethical and against the spirit of fair play.

Here is an extract from the interview relating to the incident:

"However, it is more of a moral issue. Morally, I felt it is wrong what I did in the game vs Fly & Yumiko"
Grubby: I believe Mouz vs MYM 2v2 issue was a moral issue. Officially, it is not in the ESL rulebook that you may not watch the replay after the game is saved. I didn't break any rules.

However, it is more of a moral issue. Morally, I felt it is wrong what I did in the game vs Fly & Yumiko. I am sorry for what I did and I apologised to Fly personally, and also to the WC3L staff. When something is morally wrong, usually a rule should be found to prevent such behaviour."
